From April 2020 to April 2021 New Findhorn Directions Ltd. worked in partnership with Energy System Research Unit of the University of Strathclyde on an Energy Technology Partnership (ETP) project (BS023-ES) to explore innovative models and technical strategies to ensure sustainability advocacy and leadership for the Findhorn Ecovillage in relation to energy. More generally, the project makes recommendations on the opportunities for, and requirements of, a more flexible, decarbonised energy system, which is capable of undertaking local energy optimisation, and participating with local energy trading and balancing mechanisms. The energy masterplan report distills the main findings and recommendations arising out of the ETP project.
