Rupert joined NFD in 2009 after completing 23 years in the British Army as a Royal Engineer and Custodial Specialist. After initially qualifying in communications electronics he has enjoyed many and varied roles from bridgebuilding in the Pyrenees, to teaching as a landmines awareness advisor and working with Young Offenders. Recent projects include setting up a number of temporary prison camps and overseeing the refurbishment of a 600 man permanent prison.
In his spare time he is a keen offshore sailor, having bobbed about in boats from Sweden in the north to South Georgia in the South Atlantic.
Rupert is a graduate of the City and Guilds Institute.
